Alumni News
Since its inception in 2002, the Leadership College has succeeded in accomplishing its goal of creating a pool of qualified leaders to speak on behalf of patients and the health care profession in North Carolina. To date, the program has graduated 66 scholars, with four currently serving on NCMS Boards, 38 on NCMS Committees or Task Forces, and 27 as officers in their county or specialty societies. Many have also participated as representatives to the NCMS House of Delegates and as Doctors of the Day at the North Carolina state legislature. Alumni also continue to stay involved with the Leadership College by serving as mentors to other scholars, sharing ideas with fellow alumni, and by participating in program planning.
